It might still be October, but if you’ve been given the task of arranging a private or corporate Christmas party I bet you are well into the swing of organising it! Christmas day is only 67 days away. Venues get booked up super fast and it can be hard to pinpoint one date when most people are free.

I’m the girl on sax who knows how to create a great Christmas party

If you’ve booked your venue and are looking for ways to make your private or corporate Christmas party extra special – I have some words of wisdom to share. I have been booked to perform at over 200 Christmas parties over the last few years, so you could say I’m a bit of an expert hehe.

Making an entrance

You’ll want people to be impressed from the offset, so think about how you are going to set the scene from the moment they step inside. If you’re going to be holding people in a foyer or bar area before they go into the main event room, make sure they’re entertained. You could have a professional sax player like myself or a caricaturist.

Music is a must – in some form or other – as it relaxes people, gets people chatting and prevents the awkward silences. I love adding glamour and excitement to an event and this is what’s needed at every Christmas party.

Think about the table decorations

You don’t have to blow your budget on your centre-pieces but they should be dramatic. Why not have large cocktail glasses with feathers? Or goldfish bowls on a stand with twinkling fairy lights? Having little favour boxes on the tables with sweets inside or raffle tickets could be a nice touch.

Choose the right DJ

Don’t automatically opt for the DJ the venue suggests as they could be mediocre. Do your research and choose someone at the top of their game. I regularly work with some incredible DJs, so I can always point you in the right direction. We know how to get people on their feet and having a good time.
